Our Duty To Help Haiti

Haiti Needs Us!

The past few days has been hectic for me. Not that I am in Haiti helping those poor souls (although I would have loved to be there giving my helping hand to them) but because I just could not sleep knowing that there are millions worldwide who have no roof for shelter. Anytime I eat, I thank God for providing me the meager amount since there are people who can not afford as much.

When I think about all the information we have all been bombarded with on the subject of the Haitian quake I can not help but think “Could all the horrors have been averted or at least reduced”? Earth quakes are natural phenomenon and nothing can be done about it but can we at least ease the pains of the poor Haitian people? According to the slogan of Obama campain “YES WE CAN”! but I want us to say “YES WE CAN AND YES WE WILL”!

These guys have gone through thick and thin for generations dating back 200 years. They are so accustomed to hardship that we have witnessed young folks being pulled out of the rubles after 12 days? Looks as if their genetic instinct for survival has taken over but must this be the case? Should it be the case? I read in a blog post where the French and Americans were the culprits for decades of atrocities in Haiti as a result of their support for dictatorships that has been the order of the day in Haiti for generations but I don’t want to point any fingers. What has been done has been done. The imminent is here. It is up to us whether we are ready to help our fellow human beings or not. I think we should.

There are many humanitarian organizations who have rushed to the aid of Haiti please let us be one of them. You can always get information on how to help. A good turn deserves another the saying goes. What if it was you?

The average daily expenditure of a typical Haitian family before the quake was $2. If you donate $1. you are making a difference in somebody’s life. Seconds have made differences in human history. Whatever you think may help is welcome.

Humans Are The Most Accursed Living Things On Earth
Immediately the quake happened, some (I find it difficult to call then human beings) saw a way to make a fortune on other’s woes. Where are scruples?

So I went to the CNN site to look for information on how to help Haiti. Since my first information on how some people have the audacity to set up fake relief programs came from CNN.

Please visit the CNN Impact site and see how you can make a positive impact on somebody’s life. We owe that to our fellow humans. Please make a donation.

God bless you.
